RAID and its NGO colleagues are publishing Glencore's response to the report 'PR or Progress? Glencore’s Corporate Responsibility in the Democratic Republic of the Congo' in the interests of transparency. We would like to clarify that the terms of reference of our investigation were agreed by Glencore in May 2013. In advance of our site visit, we sent Glencore a list of the matters that we wished to discuss. Following the site visit – during which Glencore's representatives were present at all times – we wrote to Glencore on several occasions to invite them to comment, and we were in constant dialogue with them while the report was in preparation. We sent Glencore a detailed list of our principal findings in May 2014 and, at their request, met their representatives again in order to discuss the findings. Glencore sent us its response on 21 May, and we incorporated their comments into the final report.
